Pay per click advertising or PPC is a form of internet advertising that is used by search engines like Yahoo and Google, etc., where a business looking to advertise to pay by the click and only pay if someone clicks on their ads.
Pay per click advertising is a great way to generate traffic and sales of online services. Since most of these pay per click ads are targeted, and usually pop up if someone is looking for a specific term also known as a keyword, it is easier for companies to get exactly the traffic you want. This is one of the best ways to advertise since almost everyone on this planet uses a search engine to find what they want online. If, for example, a person is looking for a business to design your website, will enter a term like 'web design service' if you have purchased this keyword, your ad will pop right on top of the results organic search, and under the title of 'sponsored links' or' sponsored ads.
The major PPC providers are Yahoo!, Google AdWords and Microsoft adCenter. The minimum price per click varies depending on the level of competition you face a particular keyword phrase, some are from U.S. $ .01. Conditions which may have cost much more popular on search engines like Google. However, the PPC advertising model is open to click fraud, competitors can click on your ads a million times to drain your advertising budget. However search engines like Google have automated systems that are protected from being charged for fraudulent clicks from competitors.
