The Truth About SEO and Meta Tags
In the past, when the Internet was still pretty meta tags were all new. They were vital in helping search engines determine what the place was all about and how to classify the site in search results. When the databases were smaller and more manageable, this meta tag provides a quick and easy way to figure out which keywords are important in a site. At that time, meta tags were kings. Many may get SEO services web sites at the top due to the presence of meta-tags.
Since the Internet has grown bigger beyond all expectations, there was a stiff competition to try to get into the top ranking of search engine. SEO services that they could get their sites according to fair means use of unfair means. In an attempt to bring traffic to your site have abused the system by entering keywords unnecessary and totally irrelevant in their meta tags.
With the result that today, Google and many other major search engines pay little or no attention to meta tags. What is given more importance is the content inside the pages of the site. A few engines still take note of words in meta tags, but they are used more as a minor supplement to the real content and title tags of your webpage.
So you should or should not use the meta keywords tag anymore? Certainly can not hurt to use it. Search engines use different factors to determine the rankings of the site, it is common sense to use meta tags along with any other technique acceptable and legitimate in that is available. At best, it increases the chances of getting a higher ranking and there is no downside unless you rampantly stuff your page with keywords.
If you still want to use meta tags, first write the content based on relevant keywords and then create a title tag and meta description tags using the same keywords .......
